Scooters for Newbies has a mission to help normalize scooter riding. Spread the joy of riding and encourage it as a more affordable transportation option in places like the US where they aren’t seen as the go-to for getting around.
We’re looking for scooter enthusiasts with good knowledge to share. It’s ok if you’re just a passionate hobbyist. Good writing + some excellent research + passion goes a long way! That said, you’ll want to know enough to make sure we provide the BEST information and keep readers safe.
This is a way to get paid for your scooter knowledge & earn a little extra to pay for your scooter addictions. 🙂
PAYMENT. We pay $0.04 per word, and our articles are all either 1,000, 2,000, or 3,000 words in length. So you’ll be paid either $40, $80, or $120 per article depending on the length. Article lengths are assigned based on the topic, so you’ll know up-front how much you’ll be paid for your efforts. If you have images you are comfortable letting Scooters for Newbies have the rights to that will support your article or another article, you’ll be paid a bonus. More on this when hired.
CREDIT. Writers will have their bio appear on their articles and you can mention a social media profile in that bio if you choose to build up an audience over time. However, some articles may be requested to be ghost written. For example, we may request that a writer create an article based on the opinions and experience with a product discussed on the Scooter Newbie YouTube channel that we’d want ghost written.
SCHEDULE. All writers will be expected to produce 2 articles per month. Writers can almost always pick up additional articles to write if you’d like more, but you can only ‘check out’ 2 at a time maximum in the content management system. You can write articles at your leisure and schedule the article to automatically post on the morning of your publishing date.
OWNERSHIP. You understand and agree that all photos, videos, written content, and all other media submitted becomes the exclusive property of Data with Renee LLC and you do not have the right to republish that content on your own site or social media. For example, a photo you submit with your article can not ALSO be shared on Instagram (or any other platform).
LEGAL. This is a freelance writer position in which you would be an independent contractor. You will receive a 1099 at the start of the year for payments in the prior year. Scooters for Newbies is owned, operated, and published by Data with Renee, LLC a limited liability company headquartered in League City, Texas.
